JOB STRESS COACHING
FOR MIT AND HARVARD ALUMNI AND OTHERS

Let’s stop the suffering!
If you are stressed about work, let’s change that into happy, meaningful and profitable work for you. You are not alone—and you’re not broken. Stress can be a signal. A call. And with the right support, it makes you into a more powerful version of you.
IMAGINE YOU ARE WORKING HAPPILY, FEELING FULFILLED, MAKING BIG CONTRIBUTIONS, GETTING THE RESPECT AND APPRECIATION YOU WANT AND MAKING THE GREAT MONEY YOU WANT TO MAKE.
It *is* possible for you. Yes, YOU!
Your stress may be coming from being in a bad environment, unfulfilled dreams, past trauma, or something else . Whatever the reason, we can find ways to change things.
I am Gaven. Over the last 25 years I have shown countless people a way out of stress and suffering to fulfillment, meaning, and advancement. I live in the DC area and graduated from MIT almost 30 years ago. My career started in writing software and then shifted to marketing and management side. I have worked in corporate leadership as Vice President of AI Products for Citigroup, and in marketing roles for IBM and Silicon Valley Startups. I have managed a team of 8 direct reports, launched solo consulting gigs, and started businesses in everything from government contracting to fashion to finance.
But the most transformational time for me however was five years after MIT when I sat down with a coach in San Francisco. That changed my life.
Growing up I was quiet and afraid of speaking up but later I gave engaging talks to 100+ audience—one of them for Stanford’s Asian Student Association on tech product management. I picked up the phone and direct dialed some of the biggest names on Wall Street. I spoke my mind calmly in tough situations which other people thought was so extremely bold of me even though I didn’t think so and thought it was just normal.
Gaven helped me make enormous positive change in my life. He is extremely insightful and dedicated to the field of self improvement. In particular, he taught me several techniques such as verbal journaling, which I would have never learned anywhere else. He's also extremely good at motivating and holding you accountable to goals. You feel like he's part of your team and just as dedicated to your success as you are.

To get a flavor, try these exercises
The Wall Exercise
Stand facing a blank wall, about six feet away, where you have noise privacy. Set a timer for 3 minutes. Imagine an audience you secretly love or hate. Talk to them—say everything you want to say. Don’t hold back. Don’t edit yourself. Say everything. If nothing comes to mind, say your default phrase: “I have nothing to tell you.” Keep going, you are not allowed to be silent. Expressing your thoughts fully is a great cure for stress.
The Integrity Check
Take 5 minutes quietly with something to write on. Write down a few things you did recently that you’re not proud of. No judgment. Just reflect on how those things may have affected others. Awareness is power. If you want to get to greatness much faster, attack any vices in your life–maybe alcohol, porn, laziness, eating junk calories, always staying alone, no exercise, no social, no charity–attack them!
The Vulnerability Challenge
Do a quick study of “vulnerability” and “courage.” Then go out and give 100 strangers sincere compliments when you notice something about them you admire. It’s okay to feel awkward—do it anyway. You’ll learn a lot.
I Love Being Alive
Take a pillow and project your shadow qualities on it. Your shadow qualities are things about you which you don’t like. Beat the pillow to death, taking a few minutes. If done right, you should get a feeling that you love being alive–a cherishable feeling! Tells you what life is!
A Peaceful Life
This practice takes some time, maybe a few weeks. Try to do it for 40 days. Sit comfortably in meditation for at least 10-15 minutes or more. Allow all thoughts to appear. When you can, also pay attention to the silence in between the sounds entering your ear. Soon you will permanently shift into living a more peaceful life and inspiring others with your presence.
What we’ll work on together
- Face stress with more strength and grace until things improve
- Build self-awareness and confidence to serve you for a lifetime
- Improve how you listen, lead, and follow so you make a mark in the world
- Take big action—learn from me what ChatGPT cannot teach you
- Find fun, profitable, meaningful work for you at the same place or somewhere else
You may not need more information–just the space to express yourself and hear yourself. You may need a challenge from me. You may need someone in your corner who’s walked the road and can help you trust your own steps.
It may be a single conversation or several but something real can start right away.
This isn’t therapy. It’s not advice. It’s work. Real, human work. If you’re willing to show up for it, I’ll meet you there—with presence, tools, and support.
